It is advisable to run offline backups for your PC data and files often, and save them on external or removable storage drives. This is what Aomei Backupper helps you achieve – Aomei Backupper Standard is a freemium utility tool that lets you do an in-depth backup of all the files and data saved on your PC.

Unlike other PC backup softwares that require you upgrading to a premium version of their software before performing a full backup of your PC files, Aomei Backupper standard lets you do this freely and in a very easy way. With this software, it is easy to backup your PC files or restore a previous backup.

Writing the aomei backupper review is really needful. I have used this freeware from Aomei to run quite a bunch of local backups and it worked very well, hence my review for it. The interface is friendly and completely intuitive – anybody can actually use this tool effectively even without reading any tutorial or request for assistance from an expert.

Aomei Backupper Standard lets you perform local backups, restore backups, clone a disk or partition freely without much stress and its processing speed is quite acceptable.

This is a software i can freely recommend to my friends, colleagues, Dopi Technology readers, and any other person looking out for a software/tool to use and backup the files on his/her Windows PC.

How-To Backup Your Files and Data using this Freeware

First things first, you have to directly download backup software or copy and paste this link to your browser – https://www.backup-utility.com/download.html.

First Step: Install and Launch the Program

Once you’re done downloading the software, run the .exe offline file and follow the on-screen prompts to properly install the software on your computer.

Now, after the installation, locate the desktop icon or visit the folder where you saved the shortcut and launch the program.

Second Step: Create your first backup

It is very easy and simple to create your first backup with this software. Once you launch the software, it takes you directly to the home tab where you’ll see a button indicating you should create a backup.

Click on the button and it will immediately take you to the second tab where you’re to select the type of backup you wish to run.

Third Step: Select your Backup type and continue

Here, you are to select the type of backup you wish to run; System backup, disk backup, file backup, disk backup, file sync.

Fourth Step: set your preferences and continue

We chose the file backup option for this review. You can possibly choose any other backup option from the list. Once you click on the option of your choice, it takes you to another window where you have to set your preferences and other required options.

First, you have to name your backup file so you can easily locate it when trying to restore backups in a case of system crash or other data loss scenarios.

The other options you will see depends on the type of backup you chose. For file/folder backup, you’d have to add the file/folder by clicking on the “Add file” option or “Add Folder” option respectively. Also, select the destination path where the backed up file will be saved.

Move on and click on the “Start Backup” button and trigger the Backup process. There are other possible tweaks you can perform with this tool before backing up your data or file(s) but they are considered necessary.

Also, you can schedule automatic backups, as well as set schemes (available on pro versions only).

Fifth Step: Your backup is successful, click on FINISH.

Once you click on the “start backup” button, it takes Aomei Backupper standard few minutes to complete your backup and save the file to the destination path you selected. Except for if you’re running a full PC backup which may take much more time (possibly hours) to complete.

What More?

There is nothing more to do, your backup has been successfully carried out. Aomei saves a copy of the backup on its system for quicker access whenever you wish to restore any of you backup files

How to restore backups with this freeware -Aomei Backupper Standard

It is easier and simpler to restore backups than creating them.

  1. Launch the software
  2. Toggle to the “Restore” tab
  3. Select the backup file you wish to restore
  4. click on the “Path” button to get the image (ISO) file from where you saved it
  5. Now, further click on next and your backup files/data will be restored immediately.

Cloning a disk or partition with the Aomei Backupper Standard

You can clone a disk drive or a partition with this freeware. The system clone option is only available on the pro version.

  1. On the software home window, toggle/switch to the “Clone” tab
  2. Select between disk clone or partition clone
  3. Choose the disk or partition you wish to clone and click on next
  4. Select the destination path to save the source partition and also click on next
  5. The disk/partition would be cloned successfully.

Ensure you create a local backup for the files on the destination path you are cloning to. Otherwise, you’ll lose the files and data saved there. This is because they’ll be overwritten by the files and data from the source partition.

Availability

This freeware is available for Windows PC users only. Hopefully, the company may come up with the Mac version in no distance time. It will actually cost you nothing to download and explore this utility software as it is totally free with no trial version.
