Most times when a computer system stops working or reports an error message, restarting it might solve the issue. But in cases where it doesn’t, you’ll require to troubleshoot the system to detect the fault or call for a computer engineer.

Therefore, our first recommended method for solving this error is “Restarting your PC”. To manually restart your PC running on Windows 10 OS, follow the steps below;

  • Press Cntrl+Shift+Esc to launch the “task manager” dialogue box
  • Click on the process tab and select Windows option
  • Now restart your system

2. Is your Windows version up to date?

3. Try Windows PowerShell

If you are going to try this method, then, you’ll need to reinstall the software application. After that, check to see if the issue has been solved. Follow the procedures below to reinstall Windows PowerShell;

  • Right-click on the start menu
  • Locate the search bar type cmd or Command Prompt Admin
  • Then type PowerShell in the command prompt and press enter.
  • Now, enter this command prompt ““Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}”,” and press enter

  • Finally, delete the “Tile data folder” and that’s all.

4. Repopulate the taskbar

To do this, launch the command prompt admin as explained in the previous method above. Or, you can choose to press the Windows key + X to open the Quick Link menu and then launch the CMD admin. It will open the Disk Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool; this is the tool you need to “fix Windows 10 taskbar not hiding” issue.

Enter this code to the Command Prompt and press enter

DISM/Online/Cleanup-Image/RestoreHealth

Your taskbar should start working properly after this.

5. Create a new administrator account

The last method we will discuss in this article is to Add a new user account to the system, sounds crazy right? To create a new user on Windows 10 follow the guide below;

  1. Open settings
  2. Go to accounts in the settings option
  3. Click on choose family and other users
  4. Select the option to add a new user
  5. Create the user account and click on NEXT
  6. Change the account type from new account an administrator account.
  7. Click on OK.

Open the task manager.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, then right click on windows explorer and select restart.

Also, you can solve this issue by using a batch file. To create a batch file, launch notepad by pressing the windows key + R, then type notepad and hit the enter key.

When the notepad is open, copy and paste the codes below;

 taskkill/f/IM explorer.exe

start explorer.exe

save the file using .bat extension and close the notepad document.

Double click on the file location and check if the error has been corrected.
