Estimate Cost : USD

Time Needed : 3 hours 00 minutes

This practice will take up to three (3) hours and would cost around $100 – $200 to purchase all the necessary waxing items.

  1. Wash The Car Thoroughly

The first step to waxing a car is to carry out a thorough wash to clean every part of the car. This must be a manual wash and has to be done within the area where you’d be waxing the car.
After the wash, dry the car with a microfiber towel to avoid mint. Using a microfiber towel will also help prevent new scratches from appearing on the car.

  2. Ready The Waxing Gears

Get out the waxing compound and the pad or microfiber towel you’ll be using to apply the wax.

  3. Apply The Wax

It is advisable to read the instructions on the waxing compound’s bottle and follow keenly. However, the general way to apply car wax is to pour the compound to the buffer pad or towel and rub it on a selected part of the car.
You need to apply the compound little by little, and you should focus on a small area of your car’s body at a time.
Start from the front fender area and apply in sections. Waxing takes time because the compound needs to be applied to a small area at a time.

Note: apply the wax following a circular motion – unless stated otherwise in the manufacturer’s instructions.

  4. Remove Immediately

When you’re done applying wax to a section, use another clean micro-fiber towel and wipe-down the area after a few seconds. Do not allow the wax to sit for a long time before removing it.

Also, you shouldn’t use a dirty or damp cloth/towel to wipe-down the waxed area. Instead, use chamois or microfiber towels. You can use a buffing pad for this purpose, too.
