These days, you’ll hardly find software apps that are totally free and yet very useful for critical needs. The MiniTool MovieMaker is a surprising app that is available for free and yet allows you to edit videos or create movies of any kind. Obviously, there are quite other interesting movie creator apps, as well as video edit apps, but what makes this one from MiniTool so special? Is this the best movie software? Well, I’m going to make this review easy and straightforward to read.
MiniTool MovieMaker V2.2: Overview
This software is one that allows you to edit videos for free, as well as create movies. It is packed with quite a lot of interesting features, which includes a built-in video speed controller, and tools to make your project perfect for the need. The MiniTool Moviemaker is pretty intuitive and won’t stress you while you’re using the app. I’m not a professional video editor, but I could find my way around this app to complete a couple of projects.
Features of MiniTool Moviemaker
- An easy-to-understand video editing interface
- Helps to create movies and trailers
- Lots of transition effects
- Animate zoom tool
- A bunch of video edit tools
- Automatically saves your project as you’re working
Technical Specs / System Requirements
Supported OS versions: Windows 7, 8, and 10 (all editions)
CPU: Intel i5 or better, 2GHz+. (Intel 6th Gen or newer recommended)
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 5000 or later; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 700 or later; AMD Radeon R5 or later
Disk Space: At least 10GB free space on primary storage drive (HDD or SSD)
Memory: At least 4GB RAM
Well, MiniTool MovieMaker would still function on a computer that isn’t packed with a corei5 processor. I validated this claim; so the app works fine on virtually all modern computers with at least 4GB RAM and running Windows 7/8/10.
MiniTool MovieMaker Review
Just as I said earlier, I’m not a professional video editor or movie creator, but I can bet that this is one of the best apps for such activities. The MiniTool MovieMaker is intuitive, comes with a bunch of handy tools you’ll need for its purpose, and it is totally free to use. One of the things that would get you to try this app is because it is totally free; like, it doesn’t have a pro version that requires payment to activate premium features.
Firstly, you have to pick a suitable template for the movie or video you want to create, and then use the built-in tools to tweak everything up. The interface is cool, easy to navigate, intuitive, and all that – I’d provide a how-to guide on how to use this software, below. A quick observation is that MiniTool MovieMaker may not perform very smoothly on low specced computers. Hence, I’d be sharing its PROS and CONS, too.
- Intuitive interface
- Easy to edit videos
- Different ways to load your video/photos
- Set custom background art and music
- Totally free to use
- Limited number of templates
- The interface occupies more than my 15.6-inch screen, so i have to be dragging the Window sideways to view everything
How to use MiniTool MovieMaker
First things first, you have to download and install the software on your PC. Then launch it to start using.
Adding Your Media Files
You can simply hit the “Add” button and import your video or image files into the interface. It is possible to add more than one media file. However, if you go straight to adding your media files, it means you want to create or edit videos from scratch. Alternatively, you can click on the “Template” link and choose from the default templates available on MiniTool MovieMaker.
Selecting Effects and Transition Styles
There are quite a lot of transition styles available on this app. Similarly, you will find a bunch of video effects arranged in tabs/sections. You can preview the effects and transition before applying it to your movie/video. Effects work for the entire clips/photos in your project, while transitions are applied in-between the media files.
Adding Custom Music and Text
The tools to add these elements are clearly visible on the app’s main interface. Click on the Music Tab to add custom music or click on the “Text” tab to choose a format for your custom text. Each element activates other sets of tools for customizing the appearance on the video/movie.
Other Tools On MiniTool MovieMaker
There are a couple of other built-in tools you will find handy on the MiniTool MovieMaker interface. This includes video split/trim tool, zoom to frame tool, and you can actually toggle between light mode and night mode.
Is MiniTool Movie Maker free?
Yes, the Is MiniTool Movie Maker is totally free to use for editing videos. It doubles as a movie maker, too.
Is Is MiniTool Movie Maker Safe to Use?
Well, the app is safe to use, but if your PC specs isn’t high, you may experience glitches when working on projects.
MiniTool MovieMaker is a simplified video editor cum movie maker software. A professional video editor can do a lot of impressive stuff with this free app. Also, you need a high-specced computer to run this software smoothly; otherwise, you’ll have to deal with a lot of sluggishness. In summary, I found MiniTool MovieMaker v2.2 to be suitable for the need.
MiniTool MovieMaker v2.2
This software is a great app for editing and creating movie trailers. It works perfectly in the hand of a professional video editor or movie creator. Nevertheless, enthusiastic video editors or learners can still complete impressive jobs with this app. The video editing features aren’t much, but MiniTool MovieMaker v2.2 is cool, overall.
